Earlier CCTV, chamber access and behaviour in dry and wet conditions help locate the narrowed reach. Live flows and the downstream system determine whether released material can travel, be screened or require local vacuum recovery. Cleaning then proceeds towards that prepared receiving point. Restricted drainage channels are addressed along the confirmed route rather than at the visible symptom alone.

Map the chambers, gullies, side connections and downstream outlet around the restricted reach. Note how water behaves during dry weather and incoming process flow.
That route shows where screening or vacuum recovery is needed and which sections may require repair rather than more jetting.
Clearing the channel without moving debris downstream
Rainfall, process discharge and upstream connections can alter water levels during the visit. The downstream system determines whether loosened material can travel safely or must be screened, vacuumed or collected locally.
The downstream outlet is protected by a chosen collection arrangement. The channel is then opened in stages while sediment and water movement are monitored.
Accessible sections are inspected after flow returns, with defects exposed by cleaning noted separately.

Can you clear a channel during wet weather?
Conditions must allow the flow, equipment and removed material to be controlled. A different work period may be needed if incoming water overwhelms access or containment.
Are roots or structural damage removed by jetting?
Jetting may expose them, but repair or specialist cutting can be separate work. Inspection evidence helps decide the next step.
