Plan the water route from the work face
The plan marks each capture point, transfer hose and temporary holding location. Available volume includes the water introduced by jetting as well as solids, oil or dissolved contamination released from the surface. Drains outside the agreed route are protected before the pump starts. Containment and wastewater planning accounts for that complete mixture before work starts.
Estimate water introduced at the nozzle together with solids, coating fragments, oil or dissolved contamination leaving the surface. Different fractions may need screening or separate storage.
Show every drain near the work area and mark which ones remain outside the authorised collection route.
Jetting water within the agreed collection route
The containment estimate covers added water, loosened solids, residue and any cleaning product leaving the work face.
Drains and routes outside the work limit are protected. Sumps, screens or containers are positioned close enough to collect the expected material before it spreads.
Collected material follows the site’s agreed transfer route to the named holding point.

Confirm storage and excluded drains
Before jetting starts, the plan should show the route from the work face through each capture point to temporary storage. The same drawing should mark drains and connections that must remain outside that route.
Can jetting water use the site’s normal drains?
Only if the site has confirmed that the volume and contamination are acceptable for that route. Otherwise separate collection is needed.
Who arranges waste disposal?
That responsibility should be agreed in the job details. The site may provide its own authorised route or ask for collection to be included.
What if the build-up is not identified?
Sampling or process records may be needed before containment and disposal can be fixed with confidence.
