Fouled Heat Exchangers

One half of a tube sheet can foul differently from the other. Opening condition, samples and previous tube records show whether the bundle needs a full pattern or targeted attention.

What to check

Who handles your enquiry?

This is an enquiry website operated by Infused Media Ltd. We review the first details and identify the jetting company offering to quote before you decide whether to proceed. That company sends the quotation and carries out the work.

Compare fouling across the tube sheet

Opened waterboxes and the tube map show whether restrictions are random, concentrated in one pass or linked to a known flow pattern. Samples and earlier cleaning notes add context without assuming every tube holds the same deposit. The planned cleaning route and completion check follow that observed pattern. For fouled heat exchangers, an enquiry should include that distribution rather than a single generic deposit label.

Tube access and previous cleaning evidence

  • Exchanger type, tube arrangement and accessible ends.
  • Process and service fluids on each side of the unit Reported performance change and previous fouling pattern.
  • Opening, isolation, inspection and closure responsibilities.

Cleaning and checking each exchanger tube

Previous cleaning results, samples and tube inspection records show whether fouling varies across the bundle. Waterbox access and the tube map then provide a repeatable route through the affected pattern.

Identify the fouling pattern. Compare the fouling with records or samples and select tooling.

Included passes are jetted from the agreed end while displaced material is collected. Cleared and restricted tubes are recorded against the tube map and completion standard.

Our heat exchanger tube cleaning service covers the practical delivery. Condensing units have their own access and recording needs, explained under condenser tube cleaning. Tell us the bundle arrangement and deposit history.

What the tube pattern and opening inspection can reveal

  • Does fouling affect every tube equally? Often it does not. Flow distribution, deposit type and tube condition can produce different restrictions across the same bundle.
  • Can you plan cleaning before the unit is opened? Records and drawings support an initial quotation, but findings after opening may change tooling, time or the number of passes required.
  • How is the cleaned bundle accepted? Agree the evidence with your maintenance team first. Visual checks, inspection records or another site-defined test may form part of the final review.
