Walk the equipment and hose routes together
A site walk checks doorways, platforms, lifting space, vehicle movements and the position of live machinery. Pump and recovery equipment are placed before the hose route is agreed. This prevents the cleaning set-up from blocking another team or leaving wastewater to cross an operating bay. At heavy manufacturing sites, the route check is part of making the clean workable.
The survey covers the equipment reference, build-up and surface that follows cleaning. Wide views then show doorways, platforms, live machinery and the positions available for the pump and recovery equipment.
Water supply, drainage and operating hours are checked against the same route before hoses are laid across the bay.
Protection for adjacent plant and live production
Walking the site during normal activity shows forklift crossings, shift changes, overhead services and bays that cannot be blocked. The work zone can then separate jetting equipment from production movements that remain live.
Build-up is removed with water and debris controlled at the source. Temporary equipment is then cleared so the plant owner can inspect the agreed machine or bay.

Heavy manufacturing sites often combine pipework, machines, pits, drains and coated surfaces within tight operating areas. The starting point is the exact location and the production problem it is causing. Photographs of the route from the site entrance to the work position help identify lifting, hose and equipment constraints.
Nearby vehicle movement, hot work, overhead services and live production can affect the available time and exclusion area. These site controls need to be settled before the cleaning method is confirmed.
Shift handovers deserve a place in that plan. A route that is clear during maintenance may become a forklift aisle again when production changes over. Record who can release the bay, who can stop conflicting movement and who accepts the cleaned area before temporary barriers and capture equipment are removed.
Build-up, mist and wastewater
Oil, scale, product residue, swarf and mixed sludge need different containment and disposal arrangements. Water jetting may also create mist. The Health and Safety Executive notes the need for a risk assessment where jet washers are used for deep cleaning contaminated metalworking systems, including respiratory, high-pressure and electrical risks.

List the affected machine, pipe, pit, drain or surface and explain how the build-up is affecting production or maintenance. Add the material involved, available time, access route and nearby operations. On a dense site, photographs from the unloading point to the work position should also show where contaminated water and solids could be captured.
If the work sits beside cranes, vehicle routes or hot processes, include the restrictions set by the site. That allows the quotation to reflect when the area is genuinely available and how the jetting equipment can be positioned without obstructing critical operations.
Describe each material and where it occurs. Different sections may need separate tooling, capture or trial areas.
